*North Land News*
North Land is getting good reviews and steady airplay from radio stations around the globe. It has just climbed to #2 on the high rotation charts on Galaxie Folk/Roots radio and I’ve posted some reviews in the news section of my web page. The summer edition of Penguin Eggs, Canada’s Folk Music magazine, featured an article in their "Big Buzz" section and interest in the CD is steadily growing. I’m inspired by all your wonderful comments and support for my songs so thank you all very very much. Radio Ramasuri in Germany just did a show about the album and I’ve included some comments sent from a friend in Japan [below].
North Land is now available at digital stores all over the world wide web at sites such as ITunes and of course you can purchase the CD and listen to a couple of streamed tunes from my web page. You can also buy the CD from fine gift stores across Canada from all HMV retail outlets.
UK filmmaker Martin Ellerbeck was quite taken with our local wilderness after filming my Black Spruce music video last summer. He has put together a short documentary about the video project entitled Rodney Brown and the Black Spruce and here’s the link!

*Touring News
*Honoured and excited to be in Sandy Lake this weekend for their *Muddy Waters Music Festival [July 29-Aug2]*..how cool is that!! for info visit www.sandylake.firstnation.ca
Then off to the *Live From the Rock Folk Festival in Red Rock Aug 7,8,9 *where I’m main stage on Friday night with my excellent 6 piece band of renown! I’ll also be co-hosting the Thursday Night Campfire jam and playing workshops and the family stage all weekend. This is a wonderful festival with a beautiful setting and I hope to see many of you there! For more info www.livefromtherock.com

Got a call from Lac Seul. I’m so glad they like the song I wrote for them!! The Flooding of Lac Seul is a heart breaking story but it has a good beat and it’s one of my faves from my North Land CD. I’ll be performing for the *Lac Seul Ojibway First Nation on Sept. 25/09*
** My 4 1/2 week *Great Western Tour To The Coast *begins on *Oct. 10* where I’ll be touring around Saskatchewan and Manitoba for two weeks as part of the Home Routes House Concert circuit in over a dozen communities! Then I’ll be booting it out for gigs in Vancouver Island, Vancouver Edmonton and eventually home...whew..if your in between here and the coast and in need of a singer-sonwriter give me a call!
*The Big Lonely Show with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra will begin touring in the winter of 09/10* and I’ll keep you posted about this exciting show!!!!!
Oh yes and from time to time I also play shows here in Thunder Bay!!
It’s a beautiful summer day and I have a new canoe! It’s been great getting out on the rivers and lakes and well ...it’s time to get off the computer and into the sun!!
